Ingredients
- 1 red cabbage (finely sliced)
- 1kg apples (small cubes)
- 1 onion (finely sliced)
- 1 tbl white vinegar
- Bay leaf
- Cinnamon
- Sugar
- Butter
Instructions
- Place a large casserole over medium heat, add butter and onion, cook for a couple of minutes without browning
- Add red cabbage, vinegar and braise with additional water for 30 minutes
- Add apples and bay leaf and leave on low heat for 1 to 2 hours until red cabbage is tender
- Season with sugar, cinnamon and salt and pepper to taste
