Description

The sweetness of the prunes is delicately balanced with the silky texture of the custard and the flaky butter in the dough.

Ingredients

  • 500g prunes (washed, quartered)
  • 1 egg
  • 250ml heavy cream
  • 1 roll puff pastry dough
  • 2 bags of vanilla sugar
  • Powder sugar

Instructions

  1. Rest the dough at room temperature for at least 5 minutes
  2. Heat the oven to 200°C
  3. Put the dough in a pie form (optionally buttered or covered in baking paper)
  4. Poke holes with a fork in the dough
  5. Covered the pie bottom with the prunes
  6. Mix the egg thoroughly with the cream and vanilla sugar
  7. Pour the egg mixture in the pie form, ensuring an even coverage
  8. Put in the oven for 30 to 40 minutes, until well set and browned
  9. Take the pie out of the form and put on a cooling rack immediately
  10. After initial cooling, put the pie in a fridge until just before serving
  11. Cover with powder sugar before serving
